Safe Haven

Where to begin when we’ve been engulfed by the depths of God. To be fully encapsulated by his love, mercy, and grace. His understanding is unsearchable, and his love has no end. He is from the beginning and to the end, the Alpha and Omega. He is all in all; he is everything. His presence is like breathing: unceasing, unchanging. Essential to life. To practice his presence is the art of being with him. Always mindful, always watchful, always curious about his thoughts. Abiding in the True Vine- our very source of life. Allowing ourselves to receive his love and jump into the river of grace.

Unity with him is the most precious gift we could receive. It is incomparable to anything this side of eternity. To be one with God, the Creator. Nothing this life has to offer is worth the cost of knowing Him. He is worth every last drop of oil my life has to offer. Nothing in me is good except the Spirit of God at work in me. Apart from
Him, I can do nothing. That is why I emphasize unity with God. We take it for granted until we realize we’ve lost it, run from it, or walked away. The truth is we have been brought near by the blood of Jesus, and yet our flesh is what makes us unaware of his presence. He yearns for our attention and devotion.

The simple fact that Jesus came and died so that we could have the same kind of unity they had in the garden is actually crazy to me. It was always about his heart beating in the same rhythm as mine. Walking in the cool of the day, sharing a meal, enjoying the earth, abiding in his presence. Practicing the presence of God is less complex than we make it out to be. He is a friend to be known, pursued, and loved. This was His plan of redemption.
