The question I’ve been diving into recently is: “What inspires me?”

I love this question because it makes me pause and examine where I’ve been pulling inspiration from. It gives me the perspective to look beyond myself and deeper into the heart of God—the ultimate Creator.

Knowing God as Creator has recently been blowing my mind. When you actually sit and ponder the beauty of who God is, it leaves you in awe and wonder.

The first name of God we see in Genesis is Elohim, which means Mighty One, Supreme Creator, and strong, powerful God. This name for God is used over 2,500 times in the Old Testament, and it carries incredible weight. The word itself is written in a plural form, hinting at the Trinity at work—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Sometimes I like to imagine Genesis 1 like a movie in my mind: the Father, the Son, and the Spirit hovering over the void together. A holy huddle, waiting with anticipation and joy to create.

For most of my life, I would have never considered myself a creative person. I barely even had hobbies. But in the last few years, God—alongside the people He has placed in my life—has begun calling out areas of creativity in me that I didn’t know were there. It has been a beautiful journey of discovery and adventure with Him.

Ultimately, God is my inspiration for everything. He is the air I breathe. Much of my inspiration flows through worship, through the Word, through creation itself, and through time spent in the prayer room.

Practically, I’ve also found inspiration through music, nature, painting, fashion, color, people, and books. Writing and poetry have been especially meaningful in this season. I love getting to express what’s inside my heart through these different mediums.

My community is also so unique and individual, and I love that about them. Each person is playing their part as the body of Christ. One of the most beautiful revelations I’ve received through this journey is realizing that when I step into the fullness of who God created me to be—the fullest version of Haven—it allows Christ to be seen in new and unique ways.

There is no need to strive. God made one of me on the earth in this time and season. So why would I spend all my time trying to be like someone else?

That realization is so freeing.

It allows me to create with authenticity.
To love with authenticity.

I have freely received His love, and I will freely give it.

He is Elohim, the Supreme Creator. The most beautiful of all. Let Him spark your heart to create. Even if you’re not good at it—who cares?

He is simply inviting you back to your original design.

Let go of what you think it’s supposed to look like and trust that He is making all things beautiful.

Love, hav
